ABOUT SOMTURK
SOMTURK, which began its operations with the support and contributions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Ministry of National Defence, was established on December 11, 2025, with the will of the presidents of both countries, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Hassan Sheikh Mahmud, and the efforts and support of the relevant ministries.
Established through an agreement signed between the Somali Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy and OYAK within the framework of the defense and economic cooperation agreement signed between the two countries in 2024, SOMTURK aims to set a new standard in the region.
